Happ for Android

Happ for Android is a client on the Xray-core engine for connecting to your own servers. There are two official sources: Google Play and the developer's GitHub releases.

The Google Play version updates itself, and the APK is handy where there is no store or it is unavailable. In terms of features, it is the same app.

Happ contains no servers. After installation, add a key or a subscription that you got from a provider or from your own server.

Which build to choose

If your phone has Google Play, install the app from there. Check the package name com.happproxy in the page address: that way you will not confuse Happ with similar apps.

If there is no Google Play, for example on recent Huawei phones or on firmware without Google services, download Happ.apk. It is the stable build, and the latest/download link always leads to the latest release.

The Happ_beta.apk beta is for people who want to check a fix before the release. Keep in mind that a beta may be unstable, and save your subscriptions before installing it.

How to make sure the file is official

Check the page in Google Play
Open the Happ - Proxy Utility app and look at the page address in a browser or in the Share menu. It must contain the parameter id=com.happproxy.

How to update Happ

The Google Play version updates automatically, or manually on the app's page in the store.

An APK is updated by hand: download a fresh Happ.apk from the same link and install it over the old one. When you update over an existing install, Android keeps the app data if the signatures of the old and new versions match.

A convenient way to follow new versions is the github.com/Happ-proxy/happ-android/releases page or the official Telegram channel t.me/happ_proxy.

When you move from a beta to a stable version with a lower number, Android may not let you install over it. In that case save your subscriptions, uninstall the beta and install Happ.apk again.
