In short
Technical writers write the material, a technical reviewer checks it, and the editor-in-chief is responsible for accuracy. Every guide is reproduced on a real device and checked against the official Happ documentation.
The editorial team has five people: an editor-in-chief, a lead technical writer, a Knowledge Base editor, a technical reviewer and an SEO editor. An article is published only after a second person has checked it. Every fact has a source: the Happ documentation, GitHub releases, the Xray-core documentation, or our own measurement with a date and method. Articles are revised on a schedule and after new Happ versions are released. You can report mistakes at editorial@happvpn.io.
Who we are
We are an independent editorial team that writes guides and reference material about the Happ app. The site is not the official Happ website and is not affiliated with its developers. The app's official sources are the happ.info website, the docs.happ.info documentation, the App Store and Google Play pages, and the repository on GitHub. We keep the full list on the "Official Happ sources" page.
Happ is a client app built on the Xray-core engine. We describe how to install it, set it up, connect it to your own servers or to a provider's subscription, and what to do when errors appear. We do not sell servers or subscriptions.

|---|---|---|

| Writes the glossary, Wiki and reference articles | Knowledge Base editor | Gives definitions, links terms to each other, and keeps a consistent style |

| Responsible for accuracy | Editor-in-chief | Confirms the sources of all statements, approves publication, and decides on corrections |
| Structure, metadata, internal links | SEO editor | Adjusts headings, descriptions and links; agrees changes to the meaning with the author and the editor-in-chief |
How we check facts
Every statement has a source. We use them in this order:
- The official Happ documentation at docs.happ.info.
- Releases and change notes in the official repository on GitHub.
- The Xray-core documentation, for protocols, transports and routing.
- The app's pages in the App Store and Google Play, for system requirements and versions.
- Our own checks on devices. In the text we state the device, the operating system version and the Happ version.
We publish numbers such as ping, speed and connection time only with the measurement date, the measurement point and the method. If there is no measurement, there is no number.
Two people check every guide. The author goes through all the steps personally, then the technical reviewer repeats them on a different device. If the results differ, the article is not published until the difference is explained in the text.
We do not publish guides that break the law, and we do not describe ways to reach resources whose access is restricted. The user is responsible for using the app in accordance with local law.
How we update articles
- On a schedule. We revise installation and setup guides and error breakdowns every 30 days. Reference articles and the glossary are revised every 90 days.
- After a Happ release. When a new version comes out, we check the articles about the affected features and platforms.
- After a documentation change. If the official documentation changes the app's parameters or behavior, we correct our material.
- After reader reports. We check every report of a mistake and reply to its author.
Each article shows the publication date, the update date, the date of the last check and the guide version. At the bottom of the page is the change history: what changed and when. Corrections of factual errors are marked in the history on a separate line.
Provider links
The buttons on the plans page lead to a third-party subscription provider's website through our referral link. Signing up through it gives a free 1-day trial. TODO: state whether the editorial team receives a reward for sign-ups. The choice of provider does not affect the content of our guides: we describe how Happ works in the same way for any servers.
Editorial contacts
To report a mistake, suggest a topic or ask a question about an article: editorial@happvpn.io.
We reply within three business days. Questions about how a specific subscription works are better sent to your provider's support: the editorial team has no access to your account or servers.
Key takeaways
- Every piece of material is checked by at least two people: the author and a technical reviewer.
- Source priority: the official Happ documentation, GitHub releases, the Xray-core documentation, then our own measurements.
- Each article shows its publication, update and check dates, the guide version and the change history.
- Guides and error articles are revised every 30 days, reference articles every 90 days and after every Happ release.
- The SEO editor does not change the factual content: changes to the meaning are agreed with the author and the editor-in-chief.
Frequently asked questions
Who writes the material on this site?
Platform guides and error breakdowns are written by the lead technical writer, who goes through every step on a real device. The glossary, Wiki and reference articles are prepared by the Knowledge Base editor. Before publication, the technical reviewer repeats the steps on their own device, and the editor-in-chief confirms accuracy and approves the release. The SEO editor then adjusts headings, descriptions and internal links without changing the meaning of the text.
How are facts in the articles checked?
Every statement has a source: the official Happ documentation, GitHub releases, the Xray-core documentation, app store pages, or our own check on a device with the versions stated. Numbers are published only with a date, a measurement point and a method.
How often are the articles updated?
Installation and setup guides and error breakdowns are revised every 30 days. Reference articles and the glossary are revised every 90 days. In addition, articles are checked after every Happ release and after changes in the official documentation, if those changes affect the steps or settings described. Reader reports of mistakes also trigger an unscheduled review of the specific article.
How do I report a mistake in an article?
Write to editorial@happvpn.io. Include the page address, the exact phrase or number that looked wrong, and, if you have one, a link to a source with up-to-date data. The editorial team checks every message against the Happ documentation or its own measurement and replies within three business days. If the fact is confirmed, the article is corrected and the change is noted in the revision history.
Is this the official Happ website?
No, this is an independent information site about the Happ client app, not affiliated with its developers. We describe installation, setup and common errors based on the official documentation and our own checks. The developers' official resources are the happ.info website, the docs.happ.info documentation, the app's App Store and Google Play pages, and the release repository on GitHub.
Why do the plan buttons lead to another website?
Happ is a client, not a subscription service. The buttons on the plans page lead, through our referral link, to a third-party provider's website where the subscription is bought. Signing up through that link gives a free 1-day trial. The choice of provider does not affect the content of our guides.
